It is now 20 years since Fadime Sahindal was murdered by his father.
On January 23, we honor her struggle for freedom, love and the right to decide over her own life. How far have we come in the fight against honour-related violence and oppression in 20 years and what more do we need to do?
The gala also highlights a couple of the areas that GAPF has highlighted during the year such as child abduction and genital mutilation.
There were speeches by Prime Minister Magdalena Andersson and Moderate Party leader Ulf Kristersson, as well as artist performances by Therése Neaimé, Anders Lundin and Kerstin Ryhed.
This year’s theme was “Vote out honor violence in 2022”
